Kids Can Cook!
Kids’ Farm-to-Table Cooking Class
· $99 for eight Tuesdays

· 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
· Enrolling 20 students ages 6-17
On Tuesdays, kids can cook! Fall 2016 students will learn kitchen safety and seasonal meal design over eight weeks. The class is led by vegetarian chef Megan Hobza of Urban Dinner Socials. Ultra-local ingredients provided by Whittier’s Strub Avenue Community Garden.
· Kids learn real cooking – from scratch!
· Kids learn about seasonal ingredients!
· No packaged foods!
· Mixed age class means kids helping kids!
Past courses: In a four-day class, 20 Summer 2016 cooking students made their own hot lunches daily, visited a backyard farm and farmers’ market, and prepared a plated, four-course seasonal community meal for 70 friends and family. It was a lot of fun! The kids worked hard in the kitchen, and there was plenty of down time to play and rest. See below for photos from the Summer 2016 Farm-to-Table class.
